This cluster deeply integrates cutting-edge technology with trade practice. It offers a “Cross-border Digital Payment Practice” course in cooperation with Ant Group, where students can engage in real cross-border trade projects within the Hainan Free Trade Port, such as participating in processing payment business processes for cross-border e-commerce platforms, mastering the practical application of digital payments in international trade, and understanding the payment regulations and market differences of different countries and regions. It introduces original textbooks on “Blockchain Finance” from renowned overseas partner universities, using case studies to analyze systems like Ripple’s cross-border settlement, allowing students to delve into innovative models of blockchain in finance and learn to assess the risks and returns of blockchain finance projects. Graduates can work in cross-border payment clearing at Hainan International Clearing House, participate in digital financial product R&D at Grab’s fintech department in Singapore, or explore blockchain financial innovation business at Hong Kong’s Cyberport.
Artificial Intelligence.
Focuses on core AI technologies and cutting-edge applications. A seminar course on “Generative AI Ethics and Governance,” conducted in cooperation with OpenAI, enables students to access GPT-4 research-grade APIs, deeply discuss the application ethics of generative AI in various fields like content creation and medical image diagnosis, and analyze the impact of AI technology on employment structure and social equity. Collaborating with domestic and international new energy vehicle companies on “Autonomous Driving System Development” practical projects, students participate in the entire development process from algorithm optimization to hardware integration, with outstanding results recommended for factory application. The campus is equipped with computing clusters and a high-precision AI smart testing ground to meet the needs of deep learning model training and algorithm testing. Graduates can work in algorithm R&D at autonomous driving companies or participate in cutting-edge research topics at AI research institutions.
Cybersecurity.
Emphasizes the integration of practical exercises and international regulations. Simulating “National-level APT Attack and Defense Exercises,” students enhance their practical abilities in attack detection, defense strategy formulation, etc., in a highly simulated network confrontation environment, and participate in DEF CON CTF international competitions to test skills against top global teams. The “Data Sovereignty Governance” module provided by renowned overseas partner universities comparatively analyzes the EU’s GDPR and Hainan Free Trade Port’s cross-border data flow policies, enabling students to understand data protection requirements under different legal frameworks and master cross-border data compliance management methods. Graduates are eligible for subsidies for the (ISC)² CISSP certification exam and can work in cybersecurity protection at internet companies or in data security regulation at government departments.
New Energy.
Courses closely combine industrial frontiers and local policies. The “Power Battery System Design and Optimization” course, in cooperation with CATL, involves students in Hainan’s “Integrated Photovoltaic-Storage-Charging” demonstration project, learning power battery design principles, performance optimization methods, and energy storage system integration technologies. Introducing original courses on “High-Temperature Superconductivity Technology” from renowned overseas partner universities, analyzing cases like nuclear fusion reactor material R&D, broadens academic horizons. The “Hainan Clean Energy Island Policy Interpretation” course, combined with the “Hainan Province Carbon Peaking Implementation Plan,” designs practical projects for carbon neutrality pathway planning, cultivating policy application and project planning capabilities. The hydrogen energy materials laboratory and smart grid simulation center provide practical platforms for students. Graduates can engage in R&D and production at new energy enterprises or participate in international renewable energy projects.
